The $1000 is actually a credit validation, not an actual charge to your account.  When you register for the auction, the system validates the credit card provided to make sure the card is active. Some banks show this as a charge and a credit on your account and is usually removed the same day. For international credit cards, it can take up to a week for validation to be removed.
